69 y/o woman with vaginal bleeding
69 year old woman with a history of diabetes and hypertension presents with a complaint of vaginal bleeding. Her last PAP smear was done a year ago and was normal. The patient is postmenopausal and is on estrogen replacement therapy. On physical examination, traces of blood can be seen in the vaginal vault. The cervix is unremarkable and no other abnormality is noted. A PAP smear is performed.
69岁女性，阴道出血
既往有糖尿病和高血压病史,主诉为阴道出血。一年前巴氏涂片正常。病人已绝经，正服用雌激素替代治疗。体检：阴道穹窿部可见出血痕迹，宫颈暴露不明显，无其它异常发现。例行巴氏涂片筛查。

Results: Correct. Endometrial biopsy and/or curettage for tissue diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma is performed as part of the workup prior to surgery. Hysteroscopy and ultrasound may also be helpful to estimate extent and invasion of the carcinoma. The biopsy confirmed that this patient had endometrial carcinoma. |
