These structures are most likely that of cryptococcus neoformans. If you still have some specimen (CSF), wet mount a drop or two in saline with a drop of India ink, and look under the microscope for the characteristic thick capsule around cell wall of these round structures. Or, spin it down and do a silver stain, PAS or mucicarmine stain.
