Small blue cell tumor in kids. Differential diagnoses in childeren and adults are very different for small blue cell tumor. In addtion to alveolar type rhabdomyosarcoma, as mentioned above, I would also think of: Ewings sarcoma, monophasic synovial sarcoma, epithelioid sarcoma, also need to exclude lymphoma/leukemia. Carcinoma and melanoma are usually not in the differential considerations for children. It needs a full panel of immunostains, even genetic studies to diagnose this case.
