The neoplastic cells are both individually and in cohesive aggregates in a touch prep cytology. and they are small or plasmacytoid, the nuclei are uniformly round or ovoid and finely stippled chromatin granules(" salt and pepper").nucleoli are inconspicuous. all these features favour typical carcinoid. Excellent description and the answer is correct.
I think this case showed that cytology is extremely helpful in this situation. On frozen section, you might have difficulty to come up with a defintive diagnosis of carcinoid tumor.
