My frozen interpretation would be similar to others opinion: fibrosis and ?granulomatous; no obvious cancer seen.
Final diagnosis: appears to be granulomatous - special stains for TB or fungus; also correlate with patient history and clinical findings.

- It can be very easy if it is a carcinoma or carcinoid. Sampling is a huge issue when no obvious lesion on gross examination.
- Needless to say, careful section of the specimen and sections of multiple areas for frozen are the most critical.
- If a defintive diagnosis of malignancy cannot be made, the best approach is conservative diagnosis - wait for permanent section.
