This is an astrocytoma, but I am not totally convinced of its grade or type. In temporal lobe, astrocytomas with giant cells may be part of a pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (WHO grade II). Is there tumor necrosis? Hw often do you find mitotic figures? Are there eosinophilic granular bodies? Are there dysplastic neurons? Was the lesion partially cystic on pre-surgical MRI? Was there contrast enhancement? These questions need to be answered first.
