I don't think the sentense of 脱髓鞘病变 can be used on peripheral nerves such as 三叉神经. At middle age, people may have some bony degenerative changes which may affect nearby nerve, and causes 三叉神经疼, a common disease. For more detail description on this damage, please refer to the following link if you can open it. Please reserve the word "脱髓鞘病变" for CNS diseases. Have a happy new year of 2014.
