Examination of follicular proliferation in thyroid gland has to include any possible capsule of the lesion. Features to look for include capsular and angiolymphatic invasion. If no sich features are found and the photos are taken from one of many identical or similar nodules, the diagnosis is adenomatoid nodules (multinodular hyperplasia). f there is thick encapsulation without invasion, this nodule would qualify as a follicular adenoma.
