一起从北京来青海支边的一个挂友在玉树州挂职副州长，他所住的州府办公楼4楼会议室已经倒塌，万幸的是他昨天在外地出差，目前正赶飞机回玉树。西宁距结古镇公路距离800多公里，中午时见我们省医院的医疗队正在集结，但愿他们速度再快点，同时注意余震，保证人身安全。

省医院褚以德院长已经带队赴玉树，下午看见流动手术车已经从车库开出来，正在准备开往灾区。玉树州26万平方公里，28万人口。不幸的是这次震中在人口最密集的州政府所在地结古镇！

The quake has been recorded as 7.1 on the Richter's scale. US news media report estimated deaths and casulties to be 400 and 10,000, respectively. These numbers, however, will likely increase in the near future. The immediate rescue efforts are underway, but it takes a long time to transport personnel and resources to the areas hit and, as Dr. Lu said, it is cold in these mountains with sleets and winds in the forecast. Poor Tibetans who live in these areas. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
