Hyperplasia of autonomic nerves and ganglia is commonsly seen in vermiform appendix in its distal tip. rarely, it may be large enough to warrant a diagnosis of neuroma or ganglioneuroma. Interestingly, small adenocarcinoid tumors may also arise at the same location and should be carefully ruled out.
