These cysts are small in size and lined by benign epithelia of serous type. Seen in an otherwise atrophic ovary in a post-menopausal woman, these are just serous inclusion cysts and not neoplastic. They are quite common in elderly women. Without associated endometrial stroma or old hemorrhage, it would be a stretch to call it endometriosis.
