Basically, we have 2 diagnoses here: 1) follicular adenoma; 2) Adenomatoid nodule. As in most of the hospitals, diagnosis 1 will result in a surgical lobectomy of the thyroid, diagnosis 2 though patient will be watched without surgery. So, this is to me pretty critical. Can anyone list the features of cyto-morphology that favor diagnosis #1 vs. #2 from the pictures listed above?
