This is RETE OVARII normally seen in the hilus of the ovary, NOT OVARIAN NEOPLASM!!!
It is the ovarian analogue of the rete testis, just as hilus cells are the ovarian analogue of Leydig cells in testis. It consists of a network of irregular clefts, tubules, cysts and intraluminal papillae. It is often lined by an epithelium that varies from flat to cuboidal to columnar. Characteristically the rete is surrounded by a fibrous spindle stroma. These rete cells will be positive for CK, CD10 and vimention typically. You should see this often if you cut the ovary grossly through the hilus routinely. Please do not confuse it with any ovarian neoplasm, although rarely you can see so-called " rete adenoma" when these rete structure proliferates and form a sizable tumor-like mass.
