- ASCP international certification for technologists in China
With more than 130,000 members and over 426,000 individuals certified, the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is the largest association of laboratory professionals in the world. Through the Board of Registry (BOR), ASCP now offers a formal process for international laboratory professionals to earn ASCPi, the international gold standard of certification.
The international ASCPi certification was designed in recognition of today’s global demand for a reliable healthcare system that will preserve patient safety and will standardize and ensure excellence in laboratory practice throughout the world. International certification is intended to provide medical technologists in foreign countries with the opportunity to distinguish themselves among their peers.
ASCP has already approved China for the purposes of international certification as reflected on the international section of the ASCP BOR website. (www.ascp.org/international) . There are four available types of certificates in China.
Last year 10 people from Hong Kong passed the test and got the ascp technologist certificate. There is no one yet in the mainland China.
In the USA almost all technology related people have the certificate. It indicates the world standard level.

- the more glass you see ,the better your eye will be. No book can give you that kind of experiential knowledge.On the other hand, you can have the best eye in the world and misinterpret what you are seeing for lack of factual knowledge.
