This is indeed an oligodendroglioma, probably grade II in the absence of cytologic anaplasia, necrosis or vascular/endothelial proliferation. Nowadays, mitotic count has become important in grading oligodendrogliomas. If there are more than 5 moitoses per 10 high-power fields in any tumor area, WHO grade III anaplastic oligodendroglioma should be considered.
